2026 Season
Short Mat Bowls played in the Clubhouse is open to all Members & Associates. It is a very social & relaxed game with no dress code other than bowls shoes must be worn.
This year we have 8 sessions
Tuesday & Friday mornings
Monday to Friday afternoons
Tuesday evening
2026 season commenced 12th January and will end 10th April latest.
2026-27 Season will commence end of September
Taster sessions for those who haven't played before will be held in the clubhouse
Members ,Associates, friends and family are very welcome. Come and try this very social, relaxed form of our sport.

For the current season the cost is £3.00 per session, including tea / coffee & biscuits, paid monthly in arrears via BACS (like match fees).There will be an Inter-Session Triples League played on Monday & Saturday mornings throughout the season.Each session will have a steward who will keep a record of attendance, organise order of play and select the team to play in the league.

An annual one-day drawn pairs competition. The 2026 competition will be held on Saturday 28th March 2026.

Closing date for entries will be Friday 20th March
The draw for partners and playing order will be made shortly afterwards and all entrants will be notified of details and initial playing times
Competition rules and format
1. All players to be drawn from membership of the Club and who have played in Short Mat this year
2. This is a knockout competition, each round will be played over 6 ends or 30 minutes whichever is the shortest.
3. The Final will be over 8 ends with no time restriction
4. Each player will have 3 bowls
5. The Team playing first will be determined by the toss of a coin.
6. Completion of the scorecard will be the responsibility of the team on the left of the scorecard
7. Competition Fees will be £3 per person, and will be collected as per the normal short mat fees process
8. Your entry fee includes your FIRST cup of tea / coffee.
